GAME ON

By the time you read this the primary elections will be over and we’ll know who the real players are for the November elections.  Normally we try to keep a low profile during the primary elections simply because BikePAC does not make any endorsements prior to the primary election.  And, our PAC funds are spent primarily getting closer to the general election.

We have received a few of the Legislative Questionnaires from candidates but I believe that most of you like myself have been waiting for the herd to be thinned.  Now that the primary is over we will kick in to full mode and mail questionnaires to all Republican and Democratic candidates.  For the record, we do not endorse candidates running for office that are not representative of the two major parties.  Reason being…the chance of them winning are slim to none.  I know that some of these candidates are good people and would do well if elected but unfortunately, history does not support their chances.  Due to the fact that we have limited financial resources, we must exercise common sense when spending your contributions on candidates.

So if you have not already done so, now would be the time to invite candidates to your chapter meeting or at the very least, have your legislative coordinator touch base with the candidates and report back to you.

The questionnaires are available on our website and make it easy for you to follow up with the candidates.  Remember we are only interested in candidates that are running for state office.  We cannot get involved with local races.

Also for the record, we are bipartisan and simply interested in supporting the best candidates for the available positions.

And please, if an incumbent has already proven to be a supporter of ABATE and our legislative agenda, please be supportive of their campaigns.

And last but certainly not least, if you were unable to vote in the Primary please get registered to vote so you will be eligible for the general election in November.  For the record we are electing all 203 Members of the House and 25 Senators.

It’s time to do what we do, get political.
